The European Union (EU) will mobilize 102 million euros to support health systems in more than 80 countries through a joint program with the World Health Organization (WHO), as it became known today.
The program will prioritize developing nations in Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific and Asia and with this help the EU hopes to give a boost to WHO’s goal of achieving health coverage for the whole world by 2030.
The program will be endowed with 123 million, of which 118 million at the end will be provided by the EU.
The funds will contribute to strengthening the capacities of countries in management and planning, in order to improve the quality of health systems and the training of health personnel, and to facilitate access to medicines and health products.
