The overall crime rate in Florida last year was reduced by 9% from the previous year. This figure translates into 45,154 fewer crimes. However, murders and rapes increased.
According to the CBS Miami portal, the most serious crimes decreased by 7.4% with respect to the previous year. This figure includes robberies and aggravated assaults, according to the Annual Report of Uniform Offenses of 2018, published this Monday.
Murder crimes increased by 4.7 percent. This promotion includes the 17 victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre on Valentine’s Day in 2018.
The report shows that almost $ 1,300 million worth of property was stolen. They recovered around $ 420 million.
