Several netizens reported Monday that an Amazon error allowed them to buy for less than $ 100 several items whose actual price is hundreds – and in some cases even thousands – of dollars.
The failure was detected by Slickdeals portal users, who reported that during the Prime Day in the online store – when several products are available at a discount to subscribers – they managed to order a Sony a 6000 mirrorless camera, which costs almost 550 dollars, for only $ 94.48.
In addition, some internauts stressed that not only the camera in question, but a number of other products, were sold for the same price. An Amazon customer cited by the Engadget portal said he managed to buy the slow Canon EF 800mm f / 5.6L IS for that amount, although in other stores it costs about $ 13,000.
“Literally everything is worth $ 94.48. I have purchased goods worth $ 10,000 for a total of $ 900,” said a portal user. “Everything that has the Prime Day label on my account costs 94.48, I just bought a $ 3,000 telescope for $ 94.48,” said another.
When knowing the incredible offer, numerous internauts also tried to take advantage of it, but not all could. While some did not manage to order the products, others regretted that when they tried to add them to the shopping cart the price went up. In addition, many people were delayed and the goods were sold out.
In that context, Engadget indicated that several orders could be canceled after Amazon detected the products whose prices were affected by the system error.
From Amazon they still did not comment on the failure on their website.
