An explosion that occurred this Saturday at a mall in Plantation, Florida, has left several people injured, officials said.
Police and firefighters are investigating the explosion at a Plantation mall, AP reported.
The explosion was recorded this Saturday morning at a mall in Plantation, west of Fort Lauderdale in Broward County. The blast threw large pieces of debris about 91 meters (100 yards) down the street, the news agency said.
The police and fire departments tweeted that the street was closed to traffic.
The fire department mentioned that it was a gas explosion that left “numerous injured”.
According to ABC News, which cited the Plantation Police Department, the explosion occurred at The Fountains Mall in Plantation, just outside of Fort Lauderdale.
In videos published on social networks were observed how the windows of a gymnasium L.A. Fitness while a building next door seemed completely destroyed, with debris scattered in all directions.
Some residents said they felt their houses tremble after the explosion occurred miles away, Local 10 said.
A video sent to Local 10 News showed a man injured on the ground near the gym. The witnesses said he had lost a lot of blood.
